NEEDLES

The granite mountains around Chamonix have been eroded into steep needle-shaped peaks known as LES AIGUILLES.
A spectacular view to the Chamonix Needles when they appear through the clouds on afternoon. Then they light at sunset, the stark granite spires become gilded and the white glaciers soften to yellow and pink.
